Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join the EDGE program, tackling global infrastructure challenges and gaining hands-on experience across a broad portfolio of projects. You will rotate through 3–4 roles across different business areas, including a field assignment, to gain a complete view of the project lifecycle under senior mentors.

Qualifications

• Coursework and knowledge of power systems, motors, transformers, renewable energy, power delivery, or three phase power calculations.
• Previous internship experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, design guides and standards.
• Good problem solving, writing and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
• Supports the quality program and continuous improvement efforts.
• Contributes to preparation of basic engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.
• Performs routine research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work.
• Prepares basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Shares information with others and coordinates with project leadership.
• Focuses on internal clients' needs while supporting external drivers and business development where applicable.
• Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
