Job summary

Serco Inc. in Newport, RI, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to help design, develop, and test UUV systems for critical military programs.

You will work on system integration, documentation, and troubleshooting during pre- and post-test sea trials in a controlled, compliance-driven environment. A DoD Secret Clearance, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and 5 years' industry experience are required, with proficiency in OrCAD/Altium and PCB design. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of professional electrical/electronic design experience.
• Proficiency with OrCAD or Altium and PCB design tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems and PCB layouts using OrCAD (or Altium).
• Create and deliver Gerber files, BOMs, drawings, and other documentation to support PCB manufacturing.
• Contribute to UUV prototyping by producing multiple PCB designs.
• Integrate and test systems including sensors, communications, antennas, propulsion, and power systems.
• Support at-sea test and evaluation activities with up to 10% travel (domestic and international).
• Perform analysis and design work involving ICs, power supplies, FPGAs, and microcontrollers.
• Prepare high-quality technical documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with team to troubleshoot, test, and refine electrical systems.
