Job summary

Serco is seeking experienced Electrical Engineers to join the Autonomous Maritime Systems Test Center (AMSTC) in Newport, RI. You will design, develop, and test advanced unmanned underwater vehicle systems for critical military programs, focusing on system integration, documentation, and pre/post-test troubleshooting.

A DoD Secret Clearance is required. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver robust electrical systems, with up to 10% travel for at-sea tests and field evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5 years of professional experience in electrical/electronic design.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
• Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium preferred) and hands-on PCB development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems and PCB layouts using OrCAD (or Altium).
• Create Gerber files, BOMs, drawings, and documentation for PCB manufacturing.
• Contribute to UUV prototyping by delivering multiple PCB designs.
• Integrate and test systems including sensors, communication, power, and propulsion.
• Support at-sea test and evaluation with travel up to 10% (domestic and international).
• Perform analysis and design involving ICs, power, FPGAs, and microcontrollers.
• Prepare technical documentation including specifications, test plans, reports, and white papers.
• Collaborate with team to troubleshoot, test, and refine electrical systems.
