Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to help design and manage Revit BIM models, coordinating with multiple disciplines and ensuring adherence to Jacobs and client BIM standards.

You will create 3D models and 2D drawings using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, working with a team of designers, architects, and engineers to deliver clash-free content across all design disciplines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of electrical systems design and the construction industry experience.
• Growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided markups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with discipline BIM leads and team members.
• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across design disciplines and 2D construction drawings.
• Coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers on Jacobs design team.
• Ensure compliance with Jacobs and client BIM standards.
• Produce clash-free 3D models across disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L).
• Participate in turning design intent into constructable deliverables.
• Support ongoing project documentation and updates.
