Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to create and manage fully coordinated 3D models using Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD, in collaboration with other designers, engineers and architects.

You will set up BIM content to reflect Jacobs and client standards, support design development, and help translate design intent into constructable drawings while maintaining high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of codes and standards shaping design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to circuits or devices.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on markups or direction.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines.
• Produce 2D construction drawings adhering to project standards.
• Coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with Jacobs and client BIM standards.
• Support design development and clash detection processes.
