Job summary

Veolia in the United States is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead the implementation and administration of Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and OSHA programs at multiple facilities. You will champion a healthy, accident-free workplace through hazard recognition, evaluation, and control.

The role requires collaboration with site management, training teams, and safety committees to ensure regulatory compliance, investigate incidents, and contribute to sustainability initiatives while supporting

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, Engineering, or Environmental Science, or relevant experience
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in an EHS role
• Less than 25% travel

Responsibilities

• Lead activities that drive compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and corporate EHS laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines
• Analyze data and audit processes that drive compliance in Ergonomics, emergency preparedness and response, preventative maintenance, traffic management, contractor management, and other various management standards
• Support and improve EHS programs and practices in the plant to reduce and eliminate hazards and associated risks
• Assist in leading departmental EHS Projects and completing required reports
• Lead and/or support investigations of workplace incidents, complete root cause analyses to determine appropriate corrective actions, and ensure completion
• Conduct safety inspections
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to the site by leading or assisting in safety committee team and meetings, including EHS regulatory interpretations
• Participate in incident investigations
• Participate in sustainability initiatives and reporting
• Promote behavior-based safety
• Ensure all employee and contractor training is completed, documented, and maintained
