Job summary

ICL Group is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist in Hammond, IN. You will lead manufacturing plant EHS, training, and compliance, driving continual improvement of the Responsible Care management systems and supporting EHS audits.

You will partner with corporate ESH and site teams, manage capital projects, and implement global EHS tools. Strong communication and leadership across all levels are required, with on-call readiness for emergencies.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience.
• Knowledge in Process Safety Management.
• Experience leading people and processes in health and safety.
• Experience in industrial chemical manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ESH compliance by collaborating with corporate ESH, Production and Quality teams.
• Liaise with local, state, and federal regulators (IOSHA, EPA, IDEM, DOT) and responders.
• Oversee permit applications and reports under environmental regulations.
• Initiate and manage capital projects supporting EHS initiatives.
• Lead continual improvement of the Responsible Care 14001 EHS system.
• Lead site implementation of global EHS tools (Enablon, GOARC).
• Assess EHS impacts for changes across operations.
• Develop and complete annual EHSS workplans and support JHAs and inspections.
• Lead Process Hazard Analyses (HAZOP, What-if, etc.).
• Develop, conduct and evaluate required EHS training for all employees.
• Maintain accurate EHS records (OSHA logs, medical records, etc.).
• Foster a culture of early hazard detection and incident learning.
