Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing seeks an experienced Site EHS Specialist to drive Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across the facility. You will partner with plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and a proactive safety culture through training and proactive risk mitigation.

Responsibilities include audits, incident investigations, recordkeeping, and collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification required; OSHA 511 preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and IATF 16949 requirements
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, training, and investigations
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable regulations.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve facility EHS programs, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct routine inspections, risk assessments, hazard analyses, and compliance audits.
• Lead incident investigations, near-miss reviews, root cause analyses, and corrective action development.
• Deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, contractors, and visitors.
• Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 recordkeeping requirements.
• Support workers’ compensation case management and return-to-work programs.
• Coordinate contractor safety management activities.
• Support emergency preparedness, evacuation planning, and emergency response activities.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HR to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Track and report leading and lagging EHS performance indicators.
• Support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and IATF 16949 management systems.
