Job summary

North American Dental Group (NADG) is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in our Columbus-area practice. You will support doctors with charting, placement of fillings, operatory setup and patient education, while following state regulations for expanded duties.

If you have EFDA certification or on-the-job training, radiography licensure, CPR, and 1–5 years of experience (new grads considered), you will thrive in a team that values empathy, quality care, and opportunities for career

  • EFDA certification or on the job training per state requirements.
  • Radiography licensure for respective state requirements.
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays.

Responsibilities

  • Assists doctors with charting, placement of fillings, operatory set up/clean up and patient education.
  • Performs expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
  • Assists in procedures such as fillings, temporary crowns, sutures and fluoride applications.
  • Records and reviews patient health history and updates treatment plans in dental software.

Friday 7:30am-5:15pm

Saturday 7:30am-12:15pm

Responsibilities
Skills Required to Make a Great "Impression" on Our Team
  • Assists doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, placement of fillings, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
  • Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
  • Assists in clinical procedures and treatment such as: placing amalgam or composite fillings, adaptation of temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments. Limitations due apply per state requirements.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating
Qualifications

  • EFDA Certification or on the job training required per state requirements
  • Radiography licensure for respective state requirements
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates
  • CPR Certification is required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary
