Job summary

North American Dental Group (NADG) – Expanded Functions Dental Assistant position in Melbourne, FL supports clinicians and delivers patient-centered care. You will chart, assist in procedures, manage operatory setup, and educate patients while following state regulations.

The ideal candidate holds EFDA certification or on-the-job training, radiography licensure, CPR, and proficiency with dental software, with 1–5 years of experience or new graduates welcomed.

Qualifications

  • EFDA Certification or on the job training required per state requirements.
  • Radiography licensure for respective state requirements.
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates
  • CPR Certification is required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Assists doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, placement of fillings, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
  • Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
  • Assists in clinical procedures and treatment such as: placing amalgam or composite fillings, adaptation of temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments. Limitations due apply per state requirements.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating doctor
