Job summary

North American Dental Group is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing practice in Cantonment, FL. You will support dentists with charting, fillings, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education, while following state regulations for expanded duties.

Ideal candidates have EFDA certification or on-the-job training, radiography licensure, CPR certification, and 1–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• EFDA certification or on-the-job training required per state requirements.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates.

Responsibilities

• Assists doctors which includes charting, placement of fillings, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
• Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
• Assists in clinical procedures and treatment such as: placing amalgam or composite fillings, adaptation of temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments.
• Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
• Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating dentist.
