Job summary

North American Dental Group is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our team in Florida. The role involves assisting doctors, expanding duties within state regulations, and supporting patient education and recordkeeping.

The candidate should have EFDA certification or on-the-job training, radiography licensure, CPR certification, and 1–5 years of experience; strong MS Office and dental charting software skills are preferred. This position is on-site with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • EFDA Certification or on the job training per state requirements.
  • Radiography licensure per state requirements.
  • 1–5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates.
  • CPR Certification is required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays; learn new programs as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assists doctors with charting, placement of fillings, operatory set/cleanup, and patient education.
  • Perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
  • Assist in clinical procedures such as placing amalgam or composite fillings, temporary crowns, sutures removal, and topical fluoride applications.
  • Record and review patient health history; make chart entries under doctor direction and handle forms in dental software.
  • Enter and update patient treatment plans as directed by the treating clinician.

Responsibilities

Skills Required to Make a Great “Impression” on Our Team

  • Assists doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, placement of fillings, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
  • Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
  • Assists in clinical procedures and treatment such as: placing amalgam or composite fillings, adaptation of temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments. Limitations due apply per state requirements.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating
