Job summary

North American Dental Group (NADG) seeks an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our Florida practice. You will assist doctors with charting, fillings, and patient education, while performing expanded duties in accordance with state regulations.

Proficiency in dental charting software and digital x-rays is required to deliver high-quality patient care. The role offers opportunities for skill development and career advancement in a patient‑centered, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • EFDA certification or on-the-job training as per state requirements.
  • Radiography licensure as required by state regulations.
  • 1–5 years of relevant experience preferred; new grads considered.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays; ability to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist doctors with charting, fillings, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
  • Perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
  • Assist in procedures like fillings, temporary crowns, extractions, and fluoride applications; per state limits.
  • Record and review patient health history; update treatment plans in dental software.
  • Enter and update patient treatment plans as directed by the treating dentist.

Responsibilities
Skills Required to Make a Great \"Impression\" on Our Team
  • Assists doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, placement of fillings, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
  • Able to perform expanded duties following state regulations and compliance.
  • Assists in clinical procedures and treatment such as: placing amalgam or composite fillings, adaptation of temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments. Limitations due apply per state requirements.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating
