Job summary

Bergen County Technical Schools is seeking an IT Support Specialist - Level I for the South Hackensack area. This 12-month, non-certificated position involves handling hardware/software issues, user management, email systems, and basic networking to support district operations.

The role requires 1–2 years in IT support, a high school diploma or equivalent, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A background check is required, with New Jersey residency within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Certification in CompTIA A+ - preferred.
• Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting and repair.
• Knowledge of User Management systems (Active Directory, Google Workspace, Office 365)
• Experience with Email systems (Google Workspace and Office 365)
• Knowledge of Internet services, applications, and networking protocols.
• Experience with basic network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Operating Systems and their respective devices (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and iOS).
• Experience with help desk and inventory systems.
• Ability to multitask efficiently.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to lift equipment up to 50lbs and pass a background check.
• 1-2 years of experience in IT support or related field
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform physical work, which requires frequent bending and lifting.
• Independently lift up to 25 lbs. or with assistance over 25 lbs.
• Independently carry up to 25 lbs. or with assistance over 25 lbs.
