Job summary

Instructure is seeking a Solutions Engineer to demonstrate Parchment services and engage with prospective customers across Higher Ed and K-12. You will guide deep technical discussions on architecture, REST/JSON and system integrations to map needs to practical solutions.

You will gather requirements, support RFI/RFP responses, and work with Product Management to align features with customer needs. Travel up to 40% and flexible location near a major airport is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and a background in academic technology and/or solutions engineering.
• Experience with K-12 or Postsecondary education; SaaS business models.
• Deep knowledge of systems integration (LTI, APIs), XML/JSON, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Student Information Systems (e.g., Oracle PeopleSoft, Ellucian, Workday, PowerSchool).
• Experience with Salesforce, Responsive, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated, with ability to manage workload.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% and work from near a major airport.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate solutions for Parchment services across Higher Ed and K-12.
• Engage with prospective customers to map needs to Parchment solutions.
• Lead technical discussions about platform architecture, REST/JSON, and integrations.
• Identify or design solutions for technical requirements and provide recommendations.
• Gather requirements and support RFI/RFP responses.
• Provide product feedback to ensure alignment with customer needs.
• Share knowledge to support sales goals, including mentorship and enablement.
• Collaborate across geographies and distributed teams to meet objectives.
