Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Carbon County is seeking a Registration Specialist to coordinate patient interviews, verify insurance, and schedule appointments in the emergency department. You will guide patients through the registration process, collect demographic and financial information, and ensure accurate documentation to support timely reimbursement.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; 1 year customer service or healthcare experience.
Computer proficiency and typing skills.
Ability to interact with a diverse customer base including those seeking emergency services or treatment

Responsibilities

Interview patients to obtain demographic and insurance information.
Engage patients to create a welcoming experience during registration, in person or via phone.
Ensure referring providers' orders are complete and match the appointment scheduled.
Obtain a new order prior to test/treatment if order is incomplete or inaccurate.
Scan insurance cards and documents accurately for records.
Secure signatures to ensure timely reimbursement.
Determine and collect patient financial liability and create estimates.
Refer patients to financial resources for assistance.
Review daily schedule and resolve potential conflicts with colleagues and providers.
Maintain registration accuracy.
