Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist to coordinate all aspects of patient registration, verify insurance, and schedule appointments. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience.
• Proficient computer and typing skills.
• Ability to interact with a diverse patient base, including emergency visitors.
• Must pass required training within two attempts or fewer.
• Adaptable to changing volumes and priorities; manage time effectively.
• Stay calm and professional in a busy, high-stress environment.
• Respond quickly in critical situations with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients by phone or in person to collect demographic, insurance, and other information.
• Guides patients through registration to ensure a positive experience.
• Verifies referring providers' orders and obtains updated orders if needed.
• Scans insurance cards, prescriptions, IDs, and required forms accurately.
• Obtains signatures to ensure timely reimbursement and informs patients about service consents.
• Determines patient financial responsibility and directs to financial counseling when necessary.
• Reviews daily schedule for conflicts and coordinates with staff to resolve issues.
• Maintains strict compliance with registration accuracy.
