Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a Registration Specialist for the Emergency Department. The role handles patient interviews, insurance verification, and scheduling to ensure accurate registration and efficient financial clearance in a high-demand ED setting.

Responsibilities include collecting demographics, verifying referrals/authorizations, scanning documents, and communicating with patients about financial responsibilities while maintaining a welcoming, professional patient

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
1 year customer service or 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
Must be able to interact with a diverse patient base in a fast-paced ED setting.

Responsibilities

Interview patients by phone and in person to collect demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
Coordinate registration and scheduling to ensure smooth patient flow and financial clearance.
Scan and verify insurance cards, IDs, and consent forms; obtain signatures for reimbursement.
Determine and collect patient financial responsibilities and provide guidance to financial counseling resources.
Monitor daily schedule for conflicts and communicate with providers to resolve issues.
