Job summary

Mount Sinai South Nassau is seeking a Supervisor, Patient Access Services for the Emergency Department to oversee frontline registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance. You will ensure accurate patient flow, coach staff, and collaborate with clinical units to resolve access issues.

This role requires 1–2 years in patient access with leadership experience; EPIC knowledge is preferred. The position is full-time evenings, with compensation aligned to Mount Sinai salary bands.

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access, registration, or front-end revenue cycle operations within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and function effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Basic leadership or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality performance; provide real-time feedback and coaching.
• Escalate operational issues, system concerns, or workflow barriers to the Manager as appropriate.
• Assist with staffing assignments and coverage to ensure adequate departmental support.
• Reinforce compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
