Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a PRN Patient Access Representative for the St Anne Emergency Department. You will greet patients, help schedule or check-in, verify demographics, and ensure accurate billing data while maintaining confidentiality. You may support multiple areas and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities include collecting payments, validating insurance, and balancing cash at shift end. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related hospital, clinic, or customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of health insurance billing and patient eligibility preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests and assist with scheduling and check-in.
• Verify patient information and validate insurance eligibility.
• Collect co-pays and self-pay amounts.
• Balance cash drawer and complete deposits.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with laws and regulations.
• Cross-train to support multiple functions across patient and payer types.
• Provide accurate information and assist with question resolution.
