Wellstar Health System, Inc. in Georgia seeks a Patient Access Specialist for the Emergency Department with a full-time Day shift (9:00 AM–6:30 PM).

You will be the first contact for patients and visitors, collect demographics and insurance details, and verify eligibility under EMTALA requirements. You will enter data, collect payments, explain financial arrangements, and guide patients through registration and billing while upholding privacy and service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in healthcare or institutional setting.
• High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with patient registration systems and MS Office; Epic experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Obtain and verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Enter data into the registration system and obtain signatures.
• Explain financial responsibilities and assist with payment arrangements.
• Coordinate with departments to direct patients and provide hospital information.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure accuracy of records.
