Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for the Day shift (7:30am - 4:00pm) to greet patients and capture demographic, financial and insurance information accurately and compassionately.

You will verify benefits, collect deposits, and support pre-certifications and registration, working closely with physicians and patients to minimize delays and improve the patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in healthcare or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong data-entry and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain demographic, financial and insurance information.
• Enter patient information into the registration system.
• Verify insurance benefits and coverage for inpatients and outpatients.
• Coordinate financial counseling and payment arrangements with guarantors.
• Assist with scheduling, pre-admission, Medicaid screening and pre-certifications.
