The WV Department of Human Services is seeking candidates for a training role focused on processing benefit applications and learning to determine eligibility across SNAP, Medicaid, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, and School Clothing Vouchers.
Under close supervision, you will learn to use department software, adhere to complex policies, conduct client interviews, and analyze financial and social information to issue benefits accurately.
Under close supervision, perform in a training role learning the methods of processing benefit applications. Determine eligibility for, and manage, a caseload for economic assistance including, but not limited to SNAP, various Medicaid programs, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, and School Clothing Vouchers. Learn to adapt to the use of department software to administer to a demanding caseload. Comprehend and adhere to complex policy regarding eligibility and issuance of benefits. Learn to conduct interviews with clients. Train how to analyze financial and social information. May retain repayment for economic assistance issued erroneously. Perform related work as required.
Training: High school diploma or the equivalent.
Substitution: Successful completion of coursework at a regionally accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience at the rate of one (1) year experience for every thirty (30) credit hours of education.
Special Requirement: A valid driver's license may be required
