Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. You will assist with regulatory compliance efforts across federal, state, and local programs as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency varies by duties.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and basic to high complexity analysis and interpretation of site data relevant to human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Supports human health and ecological risk teams and contributes to the process of project tasks, including development of data quality objectives (DQOs), QA Project Plans (QAPPs), and sampling and analysis plans (SAPs).
• Prepares conceptual site exposure models (CSEMs), HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs for varying complexity.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists to implement approved project approaches.
• Provides technical evaluation of client documents and supports meetings with clients and responsible parties.
• Guides and mentors junior staff for growth within the discipline and firm.
• Collaborates with sales staff to support proposals in response to RFPs.
• Contributes to firm knowledge with white papers on environmental issues.
• Attends and presents at conferences to improve visibility of the firm's products and services.
• Performs other duties as required.
