Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. You will assist with regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local efforts in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and toxicologists to implement approved approaches, prepare exposure models and risk assessments, and mentor junior staff while contributing to client meetings and proposals.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science or related field.
• 7+ years of related experience preferred.
• Travel may be required; frequency contingent on project needs.
• Background in environmental consulting or regulation encouraged.
• Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Support site investigations and HSRA/ERAs under general direction.
• Develop data quality objectives, QAPPs, and SAPs with teams.
• Plan for CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, BERAs for various complexities.
• Collaborate with scientists, geologists, engineers, toxicologists on approaches.
• Provide technical evaluation of project documents on oversight projects.
• Mentor junior staff and support sales proposals with technical input.
