Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor in Lansing, MI to support Human Health and Ecological risk projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local projects and involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will assist with DHQOs, SAPs, CSEMs, and BERAs, and contribute to technical knowledge through white papers and client-facing presentations. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and analysis and interpretation of site data relevant to human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Supports human health and ecological risk teams and contributes to data quality objectives (DQOs), QAPPs, and SAPs.
• Prepares conceptual site exposure models (CSEMs), HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs for basic to high complexity.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists to implement project approaches.
• Provides technical evaluation of project documents and supports client meetings.
