Thompson Tractor in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Sales Trainee to complete a rigorous training program preparing you to manage an earthmoving sales territory. The role combines on-the-job instruction, classroom training, and e-learning, with relocation required as positions become available.

The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, urgency, teamwork, customer service enthusiasm, and a drive to find solutions efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Previous sales and a working knowledge of the earthmoving industry is preferred.
• Experience with personal computers and basic typing skills are required.
• Ability to quickly acquire required skills and competencies.

Responsabilités

• Complete the web-based Caterpillar Foundational Sales Certification
• Attend assigned instructor led Service Training courses
• Work in various service departments including the shop and field service
• Work on the parts counter and in the warehouse
• Develop a complete knowledge of the Caterpillar product line
• Assist in collection of past due invoices
• Monitor and report product performance and competitive activity
• Provide liaison support between customer, TTCO, and our vendors
• Establish and maintain personal working relationships with coworkers
• Negotiate mutually agreeable settlements on customer complaints
