Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Operations Associate to help create an outstanding customer experience through in-store operations. This early-morning role supports a team to complete tasks before opening and to ensure merchandise is properly priced, stocked and ready for customers.

The position emphasizes customer service, fast-paced movement, and accurate signing, with opportunities to learn about omnichannel processes and merchandise strategy.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service – maneuver around the store at a fast pace, providing assistance to customers.
• Execute pricing and signing – change ticket prices and sign merchandise across the store quickly and accurately.
• Replenish and restock the store – understand customer needs, assist sales floor peers and leaders by pulling and preparing merchandise to go to the floor to ensure all styles and sizes are available.
• Receive and unload merchandise – work with co‑workers to unload a truck and prepare merchandise in the backroom.
• Maintain backroom standards – keep the stockroom safe, clean, and organized.
• Support omnichannel operations – contribute to Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store, Order Delivery and Returns, Shipping Online Orders, and Merchandise Receiving initiatives.
• Implement merchandise strategy – execute leadership plans for merchandise placement, maintaining merchandising standards to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
• Participate in a learning environment – absorb new information from peers or training materials on merchandise, shrink, safety, productivity, and other business processes.
