Job summary

WSP USA in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the Property & Buildings Team, assisting with design, development, building, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems for public and private sector projects.

You will participate in AutoCAD/CAM workflows, data analysis, and technical writing while under supervision, with a focus on safety, quality, and professional growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems, codes, regulations and record-keeping requirements.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
• Experience with AutoCAD or CAM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, blueprints, and reports for project development.
• Perform basic professional mechanical engineering work related to research and inspections of site conditions and mechanical systems.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical input on engineering and construction issues.
• Generate documentation and specifications using electronic systems and field notes.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies across projects.
