Job summary

WSP is initiating a search for a Full-Time Early Career Mechanical Engineer for our Philadelphia, PA office starting in Summer 2027.

Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and contribute to local technical assistance for the design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of mechanical systems on infrastructure, building, and construction projects in the public and private sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection and analysis from sites, surveys, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Support basic mechanical engineering work related to research and inspections of site conditions and systems.
• Perform routine engineering functions and provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and operating strategies.
• Assist with verifying site characteristics and provide technical support on engineering issues.
• Generate documentation and specifications using electronic systems, drawings, and field notes.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and project procedures; complete assigned training.
• Exercise ethical decision-making and comply with company policies.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed by business needs.
