WSP USA in Hamilton, NJ is seeking an early career Mechanical Engineer to join the Property & Buildings Team this Summer 2027. You will assist in the design, development, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems for infrastructure and buildings, contributing to documentation and project execution.

The role emphasizes collaboration, data analysis from site surveys and blueprints, and adherence to safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 year post-education experience.
  • Strong analytical and research abilities.
  • Familiar with design/build processes.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and building codes.
  • Proficient writing, documentation and reporting.
  • Familiar with design software (Revit, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting and analyzing data from sites, plans, drawings, and reports for project development and construction.
  • Support basic professional mechanical engineering tasks including research and site condition inspections.
  • Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical input on engineering issues.
  • Create complete, accurate documentation and specifications using electronic systems and logs.
  • Follow safety guidelines and site procedures; maintain compliance.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to code of conduct and company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as needed by business needs.
