Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support patients of all ages. The PTA will educate patients and caregivers, follow and adapt the plan of care, and document progress in the EMR. The role includes administering therapeutic modalities and collaborating with the PT team to optimize patient outcomes.

The position requires an Associate's Degree and an active PTA license (IDFPR) with BLS. Additional CEU completion for stroke care may be required.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree required.
Licensed PTA (IDFPR) in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA.
Board Eligible/Require to complete board exam and CEU for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers.
Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response and evidence after communicating with the evaluating therapist.
Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy.
Completes annual education to comply with program requirements.
Follows treatment plan and provides therapeutic interventions including exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound.
Administers electrical stimulation and aquatic therapy when applicable.
Documents daily charging in therapy EMR and communicates progress to referring provider.
