Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to implement the plan of care under a physical therapist, serving patients of all ages. The role models professional service delivery and serves as a clinical resource for staff and students.

Responsibilities include educating patients and families, following the plan of care, and documenting in the EMR. The position requires an Associate's Degree and PTA licensure, with BLS and board eligibility required or pursued as applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or related field.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Board eligibility and intent to complete board exam when date is available.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, and caregivers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows and adjusts plan of care with therapist communication and daily notes.
• Documents per Clinical Documentation Policy and program requirements.
• Complete annual education to comply with program requirements when applicable.
• Provide therapeutic interventions including exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, e-stim, aquatic therapy.
• Daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR; coordinate with PT on treatment.
