Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our therapy team. The PTA Educates patients and families, follows the plan of care, and documents outcomes.

The role supports gait and balance training, aquatic therapy, and electrical stimulation, with daily EMR documentation and coordination with the supervising PT. Qualified candidates hold an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance, a valid PTA license (IDFPR) and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with IDFPR.
• BLS within 30 days - AHA.
• Board eligible and must complete board exam on next date; continue education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response with communication.
• Produces documentation per Clinical Documentation Policy CTSCP67.
• Completes annual education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement program (if applicable).
• Performs therapeutic interventions including exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound.
• Administers electrical stimulation.
• Provides aquatic therapy as applicable.
• Completes daily documentation and therapy EMR charges.
• Coordinates with PT and communicates with referring providers.
