Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to implement the plan of care under the supervision of a physical therapist. You will educate patients and families, adjust treatments based on patient progress, and document care meticulously in the EMR.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance, IL PTA licensure, and BLS certification. You will collaborate with PTs and care teams to support stroke care and rehabilitation goals across patient ages.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed PTA in Illinois with BLS certification.
• Board-eligible to complete board exam when date permits.
• Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response and evidence after communicating with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy.
• Completes annual education to comply with program requirements if applicable.
• Follows treatment plan of care established by PT; provides therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound.
