Job summary

The Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Before & After School Director to plan and run the after-school program, supervise staff, and ensure quality programming and community relations while complying with licensing requirements.

This non-Exempt, full-time role focuses on daily operations, staff scheduling, training, parent communication, and program improvement in alignment with Colorado licensing and district guidelines.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree with such majors as recreation, outdoor education, elementary or early childhood education, or a human services subject
• Associate degree or 60 semester credit hours and 3 months of licensed child care experience
• 21 months (3,185 hours) of experience with six college hours or 40 clock hours training for licensed staffing requirements

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces Colorado licensing requirements. Daily tasks and staffing responsibilities.
• Plans and implements quality lesson plans for every operating day.
• Open/close the program before and after school.
• Supervise and engage with students during program times.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities and field trips.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and purchase supplies within budget.
• Attend director/principal/nurse meetings.
• Interview and hire staff for the program.
• Supervise staff and conduct annual/60-day evaluations.
• Create weekly staff schedules.
• Create and implement activities and field trips for full-day programming.
• Promote and market the program for before/after care.
• Conduct monthly staff meetings and maintain licensing-compliant files
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, school staff, and district staff
• Participate in required professional development trainings
• Perform other duties as assigned
