Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Before & After School Director to plan and implement the child care program, supervise staff, and promote positive relations with families and the school community.

This role requires knowledge of Colorado licensing, strong leadership, and the ability to organize daily operations, schedule staff, and ensure safe, engaging activities for school-age children. The director will work with principals and district leaders to maintain quality programming.

Qualifications

• Must be age 21 or over.
• A four-year degree in recreation, outdoor education, or education or related human services.
• An associate degree plus 3+ months of relevant supervising experience with children.
• Alternative: 21 months of care/supervision with additional qualifying hours.
• Current early childhood credential Level II or higher.

Responsibilities

• Follows licensing requirements and enforces them daily.
• Plans and implements quality lesson plans and activities.
• Open/close program; supervise and engage students daily.
• Supervise staff; conduct meetings; hire and evaluate staff.
• Promote the program to families and community partners.
• Arrange field trips and full-day programming when appropriate.
• Maintain staff files and comply with licensing standards.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school staff.
