Job summary

Ascension is seeking a dedicated Purchasing team member in Wichita, KS (Via Christi Home Medical) to ensure medical equipment safety, readiness, and timely delivery. You will train staff and caregivers on equipment use, manage end-to-end delivery and pickup, and resolve equipment issues to support continuous patient care.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and efficient coordination with care teams, in a full-time, day-shift capacity within Ascension’s health system.

Qualifications

  • Valid Kansas, Oklahoma or Missouri driver’s license prior to hire date or transfer date required.
  • Commercial Driver's License with tank and hazmat endorsements may be required.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Champion patient safety by testing, maintaining, and sanitizing medical equipment to ensure devices are ready for use.
  • Train caregivers and patients on equipment operation to boost confidence and safety.
  • Oversee end-to-end logistics of delivery and retrieval to keep facilities stocked with necessary tools for patient recovery.
  • Perform rapid, high-quality equipment repairs to minimize downtime and disruptions to care.
  • Ensure safe, professional transport of medical assets by maintaining a flawless safety record.

What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
