Job summary

Utz Quality Foods seeks a Warehouse Lead for its DSD DC in Chesapeake, VA to manage daily warehouse operations and support the sales team. You will supervise staff, oversee inventory, and ensure timely delivery and accuracy of loads to customers.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in a DSD warehouse, familiarity with D365 and MS Office, and proven leadership skills. A valid driver’s license, DOT medical card, and forklift ability are preferred, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in a DSD DC in a food-related industry.
• Experience with ERP systems such as D365 is highly preferred.
• Experience leading and directing others is preferred.
• Requires organization and attention to details to maintain accurate inventory and rotation of product at the distribution center.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; requires basic math skills.
• Requires independent decision making on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
• Must be at least 19 years old, have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and possess or have the ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Must be able to fill in and cover open routes; must be able to operate a route sales delivery vehicle and forklift if required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily operations of the DSD DC.
• Assigns daily tasks to the DSD Warehouse Utilities, ensuring work is done accurately and timely.
• Assists with training new DSD warehouse team members.
• Orders inventory; Receives, stores, loads, and ensures products and materials are accounted for and kept in excellent condition.
• Unloads trailers that arrive and checks trailer loads for accuracy.
• Checks products picked and loaded, signing load tickets to verify inventory.
• Uses a handheld computer to balance daily inventory.
• Accepts and checks return to stock products and stale/damaged items.
• Maintains organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.
• Covers open routes as directed; delivers product to customers and merchandises in accounts.
• Leads month-end inventory counts and reports discrepancies.
