Job summary

UFP Transportation, Inc. seeks a Private Fleet Driver Manager to oversee daily interactions with private fleet drivers, monitor trips, and resolve time-sensitive issues. You will report to the Hub Manager and collaborate with load planners to support strategic operating plans.

You will conduct driver performance reviews, manage timecards and vacations, and liaise with maintenance to minimize downtime. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred or 2–4 years transportation experience preferred.
• Ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of drivers.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

• Updating systems and communicating load information to drivers; schedule pickups/deliveries.
• Monitor movement of trucks and freight; address issues during trips.
• Resolve issues affecting pickup/delivery times due to delays, weather, or customer changes.
• Notify drivers about missing paperwork and maintenance scheduling.
• Oversee driver timecard entry and vacations; conduct performance reviews.
• Coordinate with maintenance during breakdowns to ensure timely repairs.
