Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Private Fleet Driver Manager to oversee a dedicated private fleet, coordinating with drivers and load planners to ensure timely deliveries, safety, and customer service. You will report to the Hub Manager and work with cross-functional teams to execute market strategies and improve operational efficiency.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• College degree in supply chain, business, financial or other applicable focus area preferred
• 2-4 year transportation experience preferred
• Travel requirements 50%
• Experience coordinating private fleet operations is a plus

Responsibilities

• Updating systems and coordinating with load planners to communicate load information to drivers and schedule pickups and deliveries
• Monitoring truck movement and freight, communicating with drivers to address issues
• Prioritizing and resolving issues affecting pickup/delivery times (traffic, weather, maintenance)
• Notifying drivers about missing paperwork or maintenance events
• Ensuring drivers are trained on equipment and filling out daily VIRs
• Managing driver performance reviews
• Overseeing driver timecard entry and vacations
• Liaising between drivers and maintenance during breakdowns to ensure timely repairs
