The State of Iowa - Executive Branch is seeking a Driver & Identification Service Center Specialist to issue licenses, conduct driving examinations, and verify eligibility under REAL ID rules. This role supports public safety and delivers high-quality customer service in a dynamic environment.

You will work Monday–Friday with in-state travel as needed; training and certification requirements will be provided after hire to support job success and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of full-time clerical or related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Current experience in the state executive branch with six months as a Driver & Identification Service Center Associate.

Responsabilités

• Issue driver’s licenses and identification documents accurately.
• Administer and score driving examinations (including motorcycle, car, truck, CDL) pre-trip, skills, and road tests.
• Verify identity and eligibility under REAL ID rules.
• Review state and federal records to determine issuance decisions.
• Conduct vision and hearing screenings to meet safety standards.
• Capture customer photos and signatures for official credentials.
• Serve as primary contact for customer questions and provide excellent service.
