Job summary

SONIC Drive-In in Meridian, MS is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in running daily drive‑in operations. You will train and support team members to ensure quality food, a clean environment, and a safe, efficient guest experience.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, scheduling, inventory, and opening/closing duties while upholding SONIC policies and standards. The role emphasizes guest satisfaction and a strong team leadership culture.

Qualifications

• Effective communication, basic math, reading and computer skills.
• General knowledge of restaurant industry or retail operations.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Minimum 6 months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or 1 year in retail management, supervising shifts.

Responsibilities

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Team Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops
• Directs and assigns staff to meet operational standards in food service
• Adheres to employee handbook, policies and practices
• Performs opening and/or closing duties
• Monitors staffing levels, inventory levels and food cost control
• Completes weekly inventory as needed
• Maintains records and documentation
• Reinforces customer service mindset and guest satisfaction
• Responds promptly to guest requests and resolves complaints with supervisor guidance
• Supports management in daily administrative tasks
