Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet safety and quality standards. You will diagnose and repair issues, complete make-ready tasks for vacant units, manage materials, and document all service requests.

The role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions and may require occasional travel to other properties. The position requires EPA Type 1 & II or Universal refrigerant certifications and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance per established policies, procedures, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Prepare vacant apartment homes for leasing: pre-move-out inspection, punch list, scheduling vendors, and completing tasks.
• Track inventory and notify supervisor when re-ordering is needed.
• Document maintenance work orders timely and accurately for records.
• Assist in grounds/areas upkeep: cleaning, painting curbs, signage.
• Fix rather than replace parts when possible to control costs.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects and repairing per policy, safety standards, and code.
• Prepare vacant units for leasing: pre-move-out inspection, punch list, schedule vendors, obtain supplies, complete tasks, inspect work.
• Access materials and equipment from maintenance, track usage, return unused items, notify supervisor on re-orders.
• Maintain documentation and paperwork for service requests and records.
• Assist grounds and common areas upkeep: clean, pressure-wash, paint curbs/signage.
• Support cost-control by repairing when possible and using materials efficiently.

Education

EPA Type 1 & II or Universal Refrigerant Certification

Valid driver’s license for on-site vehicle use
