Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process per SOPs; assess health history and answer basic medical questions related to donation.
• Perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature; perform finger stick to obtain hematocrit and total protein.
• Educate new donors on therapeutic products made from donated plasma and explain screening processes, health tests, appointment system, and center policies.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as needed after appropriate training.
• Answer the telephone and route questions to appropriate staff; maintain donor confidentiality.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet center needs.
• Bilingual abilities may be required to meet business needs.
