Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process per SOPs, including health history and basic medical questions; perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature; perform finger sticks to obtain hematocrit and total protein.
• Educate donors on therapeutic products from donated plasma and explain screening, tests, appointment system, deme donation fees, policies, nutrition and other information.
• Register applicants and transfer donors after training as needed.
• Answer telephone calls and route inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Monitor donor reactions and notify staff as needed; alert Group Leader or Supervisor to donor flow issues.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies; follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
