Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a friendly donation associate to greet donors, accept and sort donations, and help move items to the sales floor. You will ensure donations are logged accurately and handled safely.

This role requires good communication, the ability to lift up to 40 lbs (100 lbs occasionally), and a flexible schedule. Training is provided to follow GWH guidelines and PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact well with individuals with diverse personalities and communication styles.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting each donor promptly upon arrival, showing appreciation, and inviting them to return.
• Collect donations using donation carts and sort them into proper categories as required.
• Accept furniture donations, place them in staging areas, and assist in moving to the sales floor once priced.
• Record donations using the donor tablet to maintain accurate records and issue receipts.
• Ensure PPE is used properly, including safety vests and cut-resistant gloves.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed.
• Perform janitorial and safety-related duties; report incidents immediately.
