Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory in Portland, ME is seeking a Database Entry Specialist within the Development Department to keep donor data accurate and current. You will process gifts, maintain records, run reports, and assist staff with data questions while providing training on the system.

This role involves light donor communication, basic constituent research, and coordinating with corps officers and the major gifts team to ensure reliable information for decision making.

Qualifications

• One year of college or technical school and/or one to three years of related experience.
• Experience working with CRM and database environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills and detail orientation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Basic knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Process credit card donations and gift entries daily with accuracy.
• Update donor records and track giving history.
• Run reports for corps locations and internal teams.
• Train and support staff on database features and data entry procedures.
• Conduct light constituent research to fill in missing contact information.
• Respond to donor inquiries about online giving and resolve issues.
• Validate and process employee giving and matching gift submissions.
• Coordinate matching gift information with internal contacts.
• Support all online gift processing and assist staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
