Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. in Knoxville, TN is seeking an entry-level plasma center assistant to support collection operations while ensuring compliance with FDA, OSHA, CLIA and GMP, and providing excellent donor service.

You will prepare equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis, monitor donor conditions, record vitals, and assist with product processing and shipping under SOPs. Strong communication and basic computing skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Three (3) months’ experience in clerical or customer service position preferred.
• Specific certification or licensing based on State requirements.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
• Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations, instructions and manuals required.
• Ability to understand verbal instruction required.
• Ability to read numbers on screening equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations required.
• Effective communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP) to maintain the highest production standards and ensure donor experience.
• Maintains Donor Center equipment and donor confidentiality per SOPs.
• Registers applicant donors and monitors donor conditions and vitals.
• Sets up and prepares all equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis; operates automated plasmapheresis machines and responds to donor adverse events.
• Promotes safety and quality through proper handling of biohazardous waste and proper record keeping.
• Handles product processing, storage, and shipments per SOPs and federal regulations.
