Job summary

TransMedics, Inc. is seeking a Donor Assessment Coordinator to drive donor offer screening, clinical evaluation, and coordination with transplant centers and partners. The role requires strong clinical transplant background and excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include on-call shifts, thorough documentation in EMR/OPTN, and collaboration with the Logistics team and clinical leadership to optimize organ allocation and transplant workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health science, biology or related field or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a Transplant Coordinator, Organ Procurement Coordinator, or similar role with strong clinical transplantation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Screen donor offers from the OPTN contractor per transplant center protocols.
• Communicate with transplant centers, OPO staff, recipients, OR teams and internal teams.
• Maintain knowledge of OPTN policies and ensure alignment with workflows.
• Coordinate donor assessment from clinical review to surgeon and recipient communication.
• Collaborate with the TransMedics Logistics team and clinical leadership as needed.
• Document pre- and post-transplant records in EMR and OPTN systems.
• Participate in at least eight 24-hour on-call shifts monthly, with scheduling notice.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and multitasking skills.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and team projects.
